To make the holiday season brighter for the less fortunate, we need donations of food and toys, which can be delivered at anytime to our convent at 411 North Poplar Hill Avenue in Salisbury.
Delivery to the Joseph House Crisis Center at 812 Boundary Street can also be arranged by calling 410-749-4239. You can also call the convent at 410-742-9590.
Many hands are needed to help our families this holiday season, especially this year with the financial challenges of the pandemic.
Frozen turkeys and chickens for Thanksgiving are needed by November 22.
Christmas toys and gifts (new and unwrapped) for children up to the age of 14 are needed by December 6. We prefer gifts that do not require batteries. Also, we cannot accept toy guns.
Needed the most are toys for older children, especially between the ages of 7 and 14.
Suggestions: footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, construction kits, Legos, board games, skateboards, arts and crafts, books, jewelry boxes.
Beyond toys: hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and other small stocking stuffer gifts.
Ask your favorite child for suggestions!
If you would like to add some extra warmth to your Christmas giving this year, consider purchasing cold-weather items for our homeless adults: long underwear, hoodies, hats, and gloves.
