Holiday Giving

Every year, the Joseph House helps low-income families celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas by giving away turkeys, toys, and gifts.

Announcements for 2024

Thanksgiving

Frozen turkeys are needed by the weekend before Thanksgiving, November 24 at the latest.

Our truck will be in the parking lot of St. Francis de Sales Church on the morning of November 24 to accept donations of frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items. The address for the church is 535 Riverside Drive in Salisbury.

Non-perishable food items are needed year-round and can be given at anytime. For recommended items, see Donate Food.

Christmas

Christmas toys and gifts are needed by the beginning of December. Our distribution for this year begins December 17 so we need donations by December 15 at the latest.

All toys and gifts should be new and unwrapped. The age range is for children up to the age of 14 years. We prefer gifts that do not require batteries. Also, we cannot accept toy guns.

Needed the most are gifts for older children between the ages of 7 and 14.

Suggestions: footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, LEGO sets, board games, skateboards, arts & crafts supplies, books, jewelry boxes.

Ask your favorite child for suggestions!

We also need hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and small stocking stuffer gifts for children of all ages.

Hospitality Room

In addition, please consider donating cold-weather items for our homeless adults who visit our Hospitality Room. They need long underwear, hoodies, hats, gloves, and anything else that will help them keep warm. See Other Donations.
